About Nichols
Our History
Nichols Higher Secondary is a co-educational institution run by the Guwahati Baptist Church in the name of Miss. Ethel E. Nichols, a retired American Missionary, who had spent forty years of her life in Assam, mostly in Guwahati, in the field of education and had contributed a generous gift for its establishment.

Founded in 1967, our school began with a simple mission — to provide quality education that nurtures young minds and builds responsible citizens. What started as a small institution with just a handful of students and teachers has now grown into a thriving learning community with state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated staff, and a legacy of excellence spanning over 50 years.

Our Humble Beginnings
Growth and Transformation
In 1975, Nichols Higher Secondary School relocated from its Panbazar site to its current, expansive premises. This move marked a significant milestone in the school's development. Since then, the institution has steadily grown from a primary school into a comprehensive Higher Secondary School, offering a full range of educational programs. The school now boasts its own dedicated campus, complete with a spacious playground, providing an ideal environment for learning and development.
